Power cast delivers but movie falls flat. Kind of hard to feel sorry for a guy losing his Porsche, $1 million house, and country club membership due to mass layoffs. It's a good idea and I get that they are trying to play on the latest recession and corporate greed but I don't think it resonates well with most people. If you are living that much above your means then you are setting yourself up for disaster. I shouldn't be made to feel bad about that. The other side of the story is compelling and shows companies downsizing to drive share prices up. "Eliminating Redundancies" (firing people) to look mean and lean but still giving huge executive bonuses is bad and should be brought to light. I'm sure when all the big time CEO's see this movie their hearts will soften and they will no longer be driven by greed and the need to have an even bigger yacht and 7th vacation home. Had they shown the hardships of the people getting cut on the factory floors just trying to make the basic means, it might have been more effective. Having to live with your rich parents for a few months while you find another 6 figure job isn't quite as heart wrenching but Tommy Lee Jones and the rest of the cast are great. Nice try.
